On the occasion of Girls’ Day 2018, the Research Center for Environment and Development (RCED) hosted the event “Future Prospects for Girls” on March 30, 2018. The event was organized by Lebanese League for Women in Business (LLWB) jointly with BAU Center for Entrepreneurship to promote girls’ interest in STEM careers. During the event, 35 high achieving female school students (13-15 years old) participated in the event. Inspirational presentations by LLWB (Ms May Abdouni, Coordinator of Bekaa Chapter) and BAU (Mrs. Mariem Rabaa, PhD candidate, Faculty of Science) female representatives introduced the participants to the important potential of women in STEM careers and encouraged them to seek STEM careers in their future. Participants were later given the opportunity to visit several technology and Engineering companies in Bekaa in order to awaken/increase their interests in STEM and provide them with a more a practical of STEM domains. This was followed by a friendly interactive discussion and feedback comments as well as participants’ views on women potential in STEM.
