Mechanical Engineering Lab

This laboratory is equipped with self-contained teaching facilities such as Francis turbine, and Pelton turbine. Students are able to assess the performance of those devices experimentally. A test bed for a steam power plant is also available where students can measure the steam flow rate and the temperature at different locations in the cycle in order to evaluate the thermal efficiency of the plant. The lab also comprises a solar distillation apparatus, test beds for refrigeration and air conditioning cycles, and several benches for airflow, pressure, and other hydraulic measurements in addition to a pneumatic trainer. Moreover, several test rigs for automotive systems and other mechanical systems are available to observe and measure different mechanical phenomena such as vibration and material strains.

Thermo-Fluid Lab

The lab contains three process trainers that are used for controlling fluid level, flow, temperature, and pressure. The test bid consists of a pump, two storage tanks, and control circuits. The test bed also includes all the required sensors to perform control operations such as PID control and on/off control.

Heat Transfer Lab

In this laboratory, students are able to experimentally evaluate heat conduction in one dimension, free and forced convection, and radiation using a full set of sensors and controllers.

Mechatronics, Control, and Measurements Lab

A set of Vernier digital and analog sensors is available in the laboratory for conducting experiments in a large variety of fields such as Heat transfer, HVAC, Indoor air quality, Robotics. Also, three experimental kits (DC motor control, Inverted pendulum, HVAC control) are available for students to test different types of controllers.

Multipurpose Lab and Store

This lab contains necessary hand tools such as wrenches, screw-drivers, hummers, etc, in addition to a welding machine which can be used by the students for developing their projects. Also, students can use metal processing machines such as lanes and drillers located in the production engineering lab.

Aerodynamics Lab

This laboratory is utilized for research in measurement techniques and experimental aerodynamics for both Debbieh and Tripoli campuses. It contains a subsonic wind tunnel that is used for measuring the pressure distribution over airfoils, determining the boundary layer over a flat plate, and visualizing flow over delta wing model etc.
