The Royal Institute of British Architects – RIBA Revalidates its Accreditation for the Faculty of Architecture- Design and Built Environment at BAU

23 October 2017

The Faculty of Architecture – Design and Built Environment – at Beirut Arab University has attained the renewal of Part 1 Validation by the Royal Institute of British Architects – RIBA. The validation includes the undergraduate level of architectural students up to the Fourth Year, which the Faculty has attained for the first time in 2012 at the end of the Fifth Year. The Faculty also attained the Part 2 Validation for the undergraduate level at the Fifth Year, and for the MArch level at the Sixth Year. The validation has been unconditionally granted until 2022, which distinguishes the Faculty as the first of its kind in Lebanon to receive such an academic validation for its Undergraduate and Master’s Degrees.
This achievement comes upon the RIBA’s successful visit for the Faculty and its facilities. During the visit the quality of the academic programs offered, as well as the significant equipment at the Faculty were reviewed.
The validation will enhance students’ access to job-opportunities on the local, the Arab and the International Market, since the most prominent universities, as well as Arab and European Architectural Institutes, recognize their degrees. The Faculty further reaffirms its commitment to the BAU Strategy which aims at making its education of the world caliber while ensuring quality.
