The Language Center was founded at the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009. Directly administered by the University President and located in Beirut Campus, the Center offers the same services in Debbieh and Tripoli campuses. It was established to satisfy the students’ needs of English language proficiency to meet the requirements of the job market.
The Language Center aims to become a center of excellence in the region and internationally where the teaching and learning of languages are concerned.
In keeping with BAU’s vision of providing excellence in education, the Language Center fulfills the essential role of equipping university students with the language skills and with cultural awareness for coping with contemporary demands to become interactive and productive individuals in the community.
An MOU was signed with Cambridge Assessment English, a division of Cambridge University, UK on 26/2/2018. Based on the MoU, BAU will be formally recognizing Cambridge English qualifications and BAU students can take Cambridge English exams on campus and obtain high level international qualifications. These qualifications are valid for life and will help students further their studies and enhance their employability prospects locally and internationally. This partnership has been activated during the fall 2018-2019 with implementing the Cambridge First English FCE exam as a requirement of the INTE 104 intensive English course.
