Dr. Alaa DAHER: Assistant professor, ECE department, faculty of engineering, Beirut Arab University.

 

Dr. Alaa Daher is an accomplished academic specializing in biomedical engineering within electrical and computer engineering. Currently an Assistant Professor at Beirut Arab University, he obtained his Ph.D. in Advances Signal Processing and Automation Engineering from the University of Normandy in Rouen, France. With research focusing on preventive and predictive maintenance in distillation columns, he has made significant contributions to the field.

 

Dr. Daher has been associated with Beirut Arab University since 2016, where he started as a part-time lab instructor and later became a full-time Assistant Professor. He also gained industry experience as a Biomedical Service Engineer at MediLab Sal from 2014 to 2019.

 

Recognized for his expertise, Dr. Daher has received numerous honors and awards for his research in biometric systems, postural stability assessment, and diagnostic systems for eye diseases. He actively engages in service activities and research cooperation, serving as a member of the IEEE-EMBS Lebanon chapter and participating in international conferences and reviewing for engineering journals.

 

His research interests encompass advanced biomedical signal and image processing, biomedical artificial intelligence, and the development of new biometric authentication approaches based on ECG signals. Dr. Daher actively collaborates in international scientific activities and research cooperation, contributing to Erasmus+ projects and steering committee meetings.

 

Dr. Daher's research contributions have been widely published in reputable journals such as Chemical Engineering Research and Design, Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems, and the Lebanese Medical Journal. He has also presented his findings at international conferences.
