Rola Sammoura

Dr. Rola Sammoura is an Assistant Professor at the Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management Department in the  Faculty of Engineering at Bierut Arab University (BAU). Dr. Sammoura has over 16 years of experience working in the academic engineering field. Over the past years she has gained considerable experience and proved to be a qualified  instructor in the field of engineering management.

During her work at BAU, Dr.Sammoura has shown herself as a professional instructor extremely dedicated to the concept of improvement in management and education. She consistently performs her work with quality and enthusiasm. She always boosts a positive attitude with her students and colleagues.

In addition, Dr. Rola Sammoura is the Manager of the Water Distribution Division at South Lebanon Water Establishment (SLWE), Ministry of Energy and Water. She joined SLWE in 2010 where she gained considerable practical experience in water management and operations management.  She is responsible for overseeing the overall management and direction of the water distribution operations in South Lebanon. She coordinates the work among eight water distribution departments located in South Lebanon comprising about 700 employees.she plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and efficiency of the water distribution system. Her work in the public sector was a value added to the Industrial Engineering program.  Dr. Sammoura helped creating opportunities for internship to BAU students. She also reinforced the courses she teaches with  real-life applications, which increases the interest of students towards the knowledge of the subjects. Moreover, she addressed practical engineering problems for study and analysis in FYP.

With her extensive experience, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to operations management and innovation, Dr. Rola Sammoura continues to make significant contributions to the water  industry as the manager of the Distribution Division at SLWE.

Her social and political relationships are also valued. She worked closely with government authorities, international organizations, and industry stakeholders to shape policies, regulations, and best practices.

Dr. Rola Sammoura is interested in academic research that helps the development of the public sector, especially in the water distribution field. She is interested in studying the non-revenue water and the pollution effects on human being working in the water sector.
