I Earned my B.Sc. in Nutrition and Dietetics from Saint-Joseph University in 2005. I obtained my M.Sc. Degree in Human Nutrition from Saint Joseph University (USJ) in 2008 and my PhD degree in Biochemistry in 2021 from Beirut Arab University (BAU). Before joining BAU, I worked as clinical dietitian in a private clinic, Hariri clinical centers and as a food safety consultant at Goodies catering. I joined the faculty of Health Sciences at BAU in 2011. Currently, serving as an Assistant Professor at the department of Nutrition and dietetics in the Faculty of Health Sciences and a clinical supervisor at the “BAU Clinic for Nutritional and Weight Management”. In 2017, I worked with a clinical team in the implementation of obesity treatment through a lifestyle modification program based on the cognitive behavioral therapy for obesity (CBT-OB) and I am considered as a national expert in CBT-OB. Through the nutrition and dietetics clinic, I contribute to community services. I was elected in June 2021 as the chairman of the Finance committee and a member in the Order of dietitians in Lebanon (LOD).

 

 

Teaching

I taught undergraduate courses including Nutrition in Metabolic Disorders, Enteral/Parenteral Nutrition, Nutrition and Inborn errors, Nutrition and Non-Communicable Diseases, Healthcare Prof. and Bioethics, Principles of Nutrition, Therapeutic Nutrition Practicum, Meal & Diet Planning (Lecture and Lab), Sports Nutrition and Therapeutic Nutrition Lab I and II. I taught as well postgraduate courses such as Pediatric clinical Nutrition and Advanced clinical Nutrition (Lecture and Lab). My teaching approach is based on student-based learning since students are involved all the time in the delivery of the course. My courses preparation includes group discussions, case studies, patient simulation, interactive lectures and assignments as well as involving some new ways of teaching such as the TBL (Team-based learning).
