Associate Professor of Biochemistry


Dr.Bilal Azakir is an Associate Professor of Medical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine, Beirut Arab University. He completed his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Montreal in 2008 and moved to Montreal Neurological Institute at McGill University, Canada and later to University Hospital of Basel in Switzerland, where his research focused on the development of treatment strategies for muscular dystrophies for which he received funds from many international organizations. During this period, Bilal participated in teaching basic sciences and monitoring research projects for students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is actively responsible of teaching Medical Biochemistry to medical students and pursuing medical research throughout all of medical student and training (medical school, residency training, and continuing medical education) at Beirut Arab University.
