Ghassan Younes

Ghassan Younes earned a PhD in materials chemistry from Claude Bernard University (UCBL), Lyon, France in 1995. He joined Beirut Arab University (BAU) in 1997, where he is currently Head of Chemistry Department since 2019 at the Faculty of Science. He had the position of Assistant Dean from 2012 to 2018. Prior to this post he had served as a faculty member at UCBL and Lebanese University. His research interests are mainly focused on the Growth and characterization of semiconductor materials, Corrosion analysis and protection, Green synthesis of nanoparticles and their application, Water treatment and Analysis and Ab-initio calculation and spectroscopic studies.
He currently has several master and PhD students under supervision and he is the author of more than 100 scientific publications including peer-reviewed articles and conference papers. He participated in many research projects.
