Course Description
In the endodontic specialty clinics, the resident must provide the following services: nonsurgical root canal treatment and retreatreatment, management of mishaps, vital pulp therapy and management of teeth with immature apices, as well as microsurgical endodontic cases on anterior and posterior teeth. A comprehensive examination will be performed at the beginning of every appointment to diagnose orofacial pain and/or pulpal infection to determine whether the tooth is a good candidate for endodontic treatment. Encouragement of using the dental operating microscope at all stages is a highly recommended.
