The clinic was established in January 2013, and it is located in the Nutrition and Dietetics Department – Faculty of Health Sciences. It is equipped with a validated “body composition analyzer”, a gold standard “indirect calorimeter” for energy expenditure measurement and other equipment to perform anthropometric assessment.
To offer an essential platform for students in Nutrition and Dietetics to promote and enhance their professional skills in medical nutrition therapy in outpatient settings.In addition, it aims to provide an important environment for ongoing clinical research within the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. Moreover, to create a unit that supports the promotion of healthy lifestyles in the community for the prevention of nutrition-related diseases.
The mission of the clinic is to establish a distinguished unit that provides high-quality nutritional care for patients while adhering to recent evidence based guidelines within a community setting. Moreover, to be a valid training-site for students studying at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics by providing the opportunity for hands on practical experience in nutritional management of different diseases under the supervision of a clinical expert.
