Course Description

The students will explore alternate treatment possibilities and finalize the treatment plans for their patients, all based on current literature and concepts. Presenting individual cases will allow the students to share the challenges they have to face, and share their mistakes, in the end sharing those experiences will prevent others from making the same mistakes. During this symposium the postgraduate students will present the cases they are treating in the clinic, where an interdepartmental discussion will lead to a finalized treatment plan. A discussion of new and advanced techniques will be presented to the students in order to tie in what they learned in the didactic course to what they need to apply clinically. Some of the topics that can be discussed are implant placement in the esthetic zone, guided bone regeneration, site development as well restorative options. This course will familiarize the students with different types of cases and patients that are treated in the clinic as well as explore possible options for treatment planning and treatment. By sharing clinical experiences with classmates they will be able to recognize the limitations of different treatment modalities. In addition they will learn to work as an interdisciplinary dental team.
