It covers the major topics; DNA structure, Eukaryotic gene organization, DNA replication, Transcription, Processing (splicing and maturation) and Translation. Furthermore, the course will review the concept and the applications of three molecular genetic techniques in clinical diagnosis, such as nucleic acid hybridization, polymerase chain reaction and DNA sequencing. Finally, an explanation of gene therapy approach through recombinant DNA technology will be discussed.
