Course Description
The course includes gingival and periodontal diseases affecting the child patient from birth through adolescence to help the students identify the condition, readily diagnose it and manage the child patient with prescription of medication whenever needed. The different pathological conditions that might affect the oral and paraoral tissues in children and infants are also covered. It is designed as well to help the student comprehend the different categories of children with special needs as well as medically compromised patients. The influence of diet and nutrition on the oral conditions of children is also covered. Minimal intervention as a concept in patient management is high lightened throughout the course.
