Course Description
Community dentistry; the professions of dentistry and dental hygiene, the public served by dentistry, ethics and responsibility in dental care, the practice of dental public health. The methods of oral epidemiology; research design in oral epidemiology, the measurement of oral disease, measuring periodontal diseases, measuring dental fluorosis, measuring other conditions in oral epidemiology. The distribution of oral disease and conditions; tooth loss, dental caries, periodontal disease, dental fluorosis, oral cancer and oral conditions. Dental practice; the practice of dentistry, financing dental care, the dental workforce, access to dental care, the healthy dental practice: infection control and mercury safety, reading the dental literature, evidence-based dentistry.
