Course Description

Nonlinear system analysis techniques: phase plane, limit cycles, harmonic balance, expansion methods, describing function. State space description. Methods of linearization. Harmonic linearization. Assessment of stability of nonlinear systems by phase plane and describing function methods, circle and Popov criterion, Lyapunov criterion. Construction of Lyapunov function by methods of Krassovskii and Lu’re. Introduction to nonlinear control system design.
