Health-Sciences - Course - ESSENTIAL BIOTECHNIQUES FOR MEDICAL LABORATORY

This course is involved with understanding the basic and clinical varieties of bio-techniques and their relevant applications performed at the medical laboratory. This course provides an introduction to medical laboratory bio-techniques. Topics include: Basic immunoassays and serologic procedures, genetically-inherited diseases and methods of detection, cytogenetics, molecular diagnostic tests and procedures, DNA-based screening, flow cytometry and its clinical applications, electrophoretic analysis of specimens, and advances in analytical biotechnology. This course is well suited to students in all majors programs, including prospective laboratory technologists.
