Course Description
The course provides an in depth coverage of the physiological, biochemical and nutritional aspects of disease processes relevant to the elderly. Medical nutritional therapy for a variety of nutrition-related medical conditions found in this population will be discussed. The course will also cover the physiological and socioeconomic aspects of aging and their impact on nutrition. Critical discussion of nutritional assessment and nutrition intervention related to chronic medical disorders associated with the older adult will be held.
