Course Description
This course provides an overview of embryologic development, followed by normal infant/child development to 5 years of age with an emphasis on motor development. This course also covers concepts, practical applications, and strategies based on theories of motor skill development, motor control, and motor learning. Also, this course will discuss knowledge related to selected pediatric conditions, dysfunctions, and surgeries including physical therapy management including examination, evaluation/assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and prevention are thus discussed for each of the conditions or surgeries covered. A problem solving approach, to resolve impairments contributing to functional limitations and disabilities, is emphasized. Pre-req: ANAT 203, ANAT 204.
