Course Description

This introductory course aims to equip students with the necessary skills to analyze data in pharmaceutical and clinical research using biostatistics tools. The course provides evidence-based solutions for medical and public health challenges that require data analysis. Students will learn how to apply statistical tools to answer research questions, including methods for describing central tendency and variability in data, performing inference on population means and proportions using sample data, and statistical hypothesis testing for group comparisons. The course also covers topics such as power and sample size in study designs and various study types, including random samples. Upon completion of the course, students will have the ability to design appropriate research methodologies and analyze their results using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software.
