The course covers principles and applications of the first and second laws of thermodynamics. Third law of thermodynamics, entropy and free energy changes in chemical reactions, thermodynamic of solutions. Phase equilibria in heterogeneous systems. Phase rule and its application in one, two and three component systems. Pre-req.: CHEM 241.
