Phase 1 of “Her Civic Quest” initiative concluded successfully at Beirut Arab University (BAU), engaging young women students from various faculties. The initiative, implemented by Madanyat under the Women’s Participation in Leadership project – led by UNDP and UN Women with support from the Government of Canada – in collaboration with the BAU Human Rights Center, seeks to empower female students by strengthening their leadership, advocacy, and gender justice skills to inspire meaningful change.
During the project, participants will develop and implement an action plan within the university to advocate for gender reform. The first phase of training covered various topics, including negotiation skills, advocacy strategies, gender justice, leadership development, and conflict resolution.
The initiative will progress to Phase 2 next month, focusing on social listening and delivering advanced training on political messaging, debating, lobbying, and conducting needs assessments to further prepare participants for impactful advocacy and reform.
