A study abroad program for students

The University of Santiago De Compostela (USC) is offering a grant for a scholarship for a study abroad program for students for the next academic year 2024-2025.

USC can accept nominations of students for the following semesters:
•    Autumn 2024:  01/09/2024 - 31/01/2024.
•    Spring 2025:   01/02/2025 - 30/06/2025.

Language requirements for students:
PhD students:
Students need either B1 Spanish or B1 English.

Master students:
Students need a B1 level of Spanish for all the Masters, because classes are mostly taught in Spanish.
There are 3 Masters that can accept students with B1 level of English (only these 3 Masters):
•    Master in Chemistry at the Interface with Biology and Materials Science
•    Master in Advanced English Studies and its Applications
•    Master in High Performance Computing (only courses of Autumn semester)


There is one Master in which classes are taught in Spanish or Galician, but they have support in English for students who aren’t fluent in Spanish: they can do the presentations and projects in English, the tutorships are in English:
•    Master in Biomedical Research

Bachelor students:
Students need a B1 level of Spanish for all the Degrees, because classes are mostly taught in Spanish.
There is an exception for the following Degrees, that can accept students with B1 level of English (only these 3 Degrees):
•    Degree in English Philology and Literature
•    Degree in Chemistry (only some subjects)
•    Degree in Chemical Engineering (only some subjects)

Information related to the grant:

Erasmus+ KA171 Scholarships

The payment will be done once the student arrives to USC at the beginning of each month.
•    Travel costs, from home university to host university and return, based on the EACEA Distance Calculator. This amount is independent of the real price of the tickets purchased by the s student.

Between 500 and 1999 km    275 €
Between 2000 and 2999 km    360 €
Between 3000 and 3999 km    530 €
Between 4000 and 7999 km    820 €
More than 8000 km    1500 €


•    Grant for incoming students: 850 €/month x 5 months
•    Beneficiaries are responsible for contracting their travel arrangements, insurance cover, and visa expenses.
