Under the patronage of the Minister of Public Health Dr. Rakan Nassereddine, the Faculties of Health Sciences - Tripoli Branch and Medicine in Beirut, in collaboration with the New Mazloum Hospital, organized a medical conference titled: "Frontiers in Healthcare: From Technology to Patient Care." The event saw the participation of an elite group of doctors, specialists, and researchers from Lebanon, the Arab world, and Europe.
The opening ceremony was attended by H.E The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nassereddine, represented by Dr. Saadallah Sabouneh, Head of the Lebanese Order of Physicians – Tripoli Dr. Ibrahim Makdassi, Head of the Order of Nurses in Lebanon Ms. Abir El Kurdi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the New Mazloum Hospital Dr. Marwan Chedid, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Rachid Karami International Fair Professor Hani Chaarani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Professor Wafaa El Sehly, Director of the Faculty of Health Sciences in Tripoli Dr. Nisrine Bissar, in addition to hospital directors in the North and a number of former MPs and syndicate heads.
The opening speeches emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between academic institutions and hospitals to develop the health sector and keep pace with global transformations in medical care.
More than 500 specialists participated in the conference, including doctors, nurses, and various healthcare professionals from the North, in addition to deans, professors, and students from medical and health colleges at universities.
The conference featured seven sessions that addressed the latest developments in:
• The evolution of nursing practices in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
• Updating medical and nutritional care for cardiometabolic diseases and diabetes.
• Innovations in musculoskeletal system care.
• Injuries and the management of acute neurological conditions.
• Modern methods in the treatment of pancreatic and rectal cancers.
• Developments in maternal and fertility care.
• Gynecological surgery.
This conference reaffirms the commitment of Beirut Arab University and the New Mazloum Hospital to support scientific research and innovation, and to build bridges of cooperation between doctors and researchers to improve the quality of healthcare in Lebanon and the region.
