His son, Dr. Osama Farroukh, spoke on behalf of the family: "The family of the Scholar Dr. Omar Farroukh thanked Beirut Arab University for accepting a dear gift to our hearts. It is a library collection that our father, Dr. Omar, spent years enriching it with reference books of heritage and contemporary books, philosophy, jurisprudence, literature, history and poetry.
As his children, we will never forget that his room which contained his library that was his symbolic hermitage and a place where he sits alone, thinks and writes. He would be saddened by the underdevelopment of our country after an age of outstanding renaissance. Yes, he was holding the nation's concerns over his shoulders.
Then, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Ammar Houry, said: "How much pride I feel today that I was a student of Omar Farroukh. And I am also proud that I sit on the same seat that he sat on as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Wakf El Bir Wal Ihsan. I am proud today that Omar Farroukh's library is now in this noble educational edifice, in safe hands at Beirut Arab University. All thanks go to his family and congratulations to his students and lovers and to our Muslim, Lebanese and Arab communities ".
The audience and his family then toured in the library commending on the books it contained that enriches our intellectual heritage.
