Beirut Arab University, represented by its President, Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, signed a five-year cooperation agreement with the General Directorate of General Security of Lebanon, represented by the Acting Director-General, Major General Elias Al Bissari in the presence of BAU Secretary-General, Dr. Omar Houri, Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Hania Nakkash, Navy Colonel Mazen Sakr, Lieutenant Colonel Firas Chehadeh, Lieutenant Colonel Tarek Al Shoufi and Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Al Mays.
This agreement aims to raise the academic level of general security members, enhance and elevate their capacities, as well as to reflect the management of academic cooperation and exchange of experiences and information between the two parties.
As part of the national educational mission of the University, it will employ its capabilities and capacities to meet the future scientific needs of general security and its members, where through this agreement, it shall provide the opportunity and scientific and financial support to members of the General Public Security Forces and their family members who wish to attain their university education in certain accredited specializations. The University shall also offer specialized courses to students on specific subjects according to their needs and potentials.
