Insights into Geriatric Care and Healthy Ageing at BAU

Under the patronage of the President of Beirut Arab university, Prof. Wael Nabil Abdul Salam, the Faculty of Health Sciences-Tripoli organized a conference entitled “Insights into Geriatric Care and Healthy Ageing” in collaboration with the Middle East Academy for Medicine of Ageing and the International Institute on Ageing on April 20, 2024.

The Conference hosted eminent speakers from different academic and healthcare institutions in Lebanon, from Malta, and from the World Health Organization (WHO-EMRO). It comprised of five sessions, including a session of healthcare policies for elderly people covered by Dr. Saadallah Sabbouneh on behalf of the Minister of Health Dr. Firas Abyad, the President of the Order of Physicians - Tripoli Dr. Mhammad Safi, The President of the Order of Nurses-Lebanon, Prof. Rima Sassine Kazan, and the Vice President of the Order of Pharmacists-Lebanon Mr. Abdul Rahman Merakbawi.

The conference accommodated 264 attendees, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, dieticians, and academicians from North Lebanon, in addition to fifty attendees from outside Lebanon.
