Beirut Arab University, represented by its President, Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, signed a protocol of cooperation with Beirut Bkheir Association, represented by its former Prime Minister Mohamed Choucair, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Beirut Arab University Dr. Ammar Houry, and the Secretary-General Dr. Omar Houri, Pharmacist Samer Soubra and some members of the board of trustees.
The Protocol aims to provide social and charitable assistance, strengthen health and social services and increase access to medical services for groups in need.
The protocol of cooperation focused on "assisting the patient in need" and meeting his or her needs through comprehensive health care where BAU Health Care Center shall provide health and care services to all persons whose health bill is covered by the Association and whom are holders of a document that allows them to benefit from a special package of services currently available at the Health Care Center in addition to all services that the Center may provide in the future.
Dr. Ammar Houry noted the importance of this agreement because it serves the Lebanese society and constitutes an advanced hospitalization value through BAU Health Care. He added that Beirut Bkheir Association, headed by Minister Mohamed Choucair, offers a helping hand to our society and helps the poor and needy. He also assured that Beirut Arab University is envolving from the best to the excellent.
In his turn, Minister Mohamed Choucair thanked the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Ammar Houry, and Beirut Arab University. He said: "I was honored to attend this meeting at this prestigious institution which I am proud of and my heart grows with it.
Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam expressed gratitude for this gesture and thanked those who contributed to this philanthropic work, hoping that these white hands would pursue their endeavors and expand the range from the health center to a hospital for Beirut Arab University to help patients and those in need.
After the signing the protocol of cooperation, a tour for the facilities of the Health Care Center of the Arab University of Beirut was organized, and viewed the highly specialized working team at the Center and the modern equipment.
