On the 13th of May 2013, In collaboration with the Association of  Friends of The Internal Security Forces, BAU-Tripoli Campus hosted, a lecture entitled  “ Cyber Crimes and its Danger on Society “ presented by Colonel  Elie Bitar; Chairman of the Technical Office – Department of Fight Against Terrorism& Important crimes at the Directorate General of The Internal Security Forces in Lebanon.

Colonel Bitar discussed a comparison between modern and traditional ways of saving data in various Companies and large corporations, pros and cons of each method, and how to insure data integrity in these  Institutions. 

Furthermore, Bitar presented the types of cyber crimes, the poor uses of internet and social media, In addition to the 7 practices for safer computing that youth should mostly be aware of , and all members of the civil society, to avoid falling in the trap of cyber crimes.

Colonel Bitar addressed to the audience the subject of the fight against terrorism and spying in Lebanon that Government is working on and the most prominent achievements in this sector.

At the end, attendees participated by asking valuable questions in this concern.
