Faculty of Architecture Design and Built Environment takes home the Serail Creativity Hub Design Competition

The Faculty of Architecture- Design and Built Environment- Tripoli Branch at Beirut Arab University was announced the winner of a competition to establish a Creativity Hub Design during a ceremony organized by IDEAS at the Grand Serail.

Chairman of the Business and Innovation Committee at the Grand Serail, Yasmina Khoury, inaugurated the ceremony, followed by a speech by IDEAS Executive Director Dalia Khalil in which she gave a detailed explanation of the center and the stages of its establishment. Afterwards, Project Manager Izzat Koreitem explained the mechanism adopted in the competition. The faculties of architecture at all Lebanese universities were invited. Three projects qualified for the final stage, namely Notre Dame University–Louaize, Beirut Arab University and the Lebanese University.

BAU students of the Faculty of Architecture- Design and Built Environment, Tripoli Branch, detailed the designs they had submitted before the grand jury chaired by Prime Minister Hariri, and which consisted of the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mahmoud Makkieh, TOUCH CEO Emre Gurkan, ALFA CEO Marwan Al Hayek and ZRE CEO Mohammed Rabbah.

This was followed by the speeches of the deans of the faculties of architecture at the three qualifying universities, including a speech delivered by Professor Ibtihal Bastawissi, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture – Design and Built Environment.

 Mr. Ezzat Koreitem, then, announced the grand prize won by Beirut Arab University.
