Public Awareness Seminar " Viruses of the Century "

The Faculty of Health Sciences at Beirut Arab University – Tripoli Campus organized a public awareness seminar entitled “Viruses of the Century”. It consisted of four lectures delivered by Infectious Diseases' specialists Dr. Hassan Mallat and Dr. Mouna Youssef, in addition to Dr. Sara Mina, assistant professor in Microbiology and Immunology at BAU and Dr. Rozi Metri, assistant professor of Nutrition and Dietetics at BAU. 

The aim of the seminar was to increase awareness on the common viruses, their routes of infection and transmission, treatment strategies, vaccines, and the misconceptions related to cure and recovery. The lectures covered influenza viruses and Hepatitis B virus, in addition to the latest findings on the Novel Corona virus. The seminar was concluded by a lecture on Nutrition and Prevention of Infectious Diseases.

The activity was attended by Vice President for Tripoli Campus Professor Khaled Baghdady, Dean of Faculty of Public Health at Jinan University Dr. Ghazi Tadmoury, Executive Director of Mazloum Hospital Elissar Yassine Haddad, faculty directors of Tripoli Campus, health students in the universities of the north, President of the Union Arab Women Nariman Jamal Ghanem and other interested attendees.
