  • Application Requirements for Graduate Programs

Applicants seeking admission to the Master's or PhD programs at Beirut Arab University (BAU) are required to meet certain criteria based on their educational background and language proficiency.

  • General Admission Criteria

To be eligible for admission to graduate programs, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree if applying for a Master's program or a Master's degree if applying for a PhD program. Degrees must be from Beirut Arab University or from a recognized university. All applicants must fulfill relevant academic entry requirements established by the respective Faculty, and they must submit all required documentation.

  • Language Proficiency

Beirut Arab University graduates are exempted from language proficiency examinations. For applicants from other universities, demonstrating English language proficiency is mandatory. This can be achieved by either passing a language exam administered by the university with a specified minimum score or by obtaining a recognized score on equivalent exams such as TOEFL or IELTS. Additionally, in some faculties, French proficiency may be accepted as an alternative to English.

  • Academic Performance

Candidates must have attained a minimum required cumulative GPA consistent with the Faculty’s policies. Specific requirements regarding conditional admission may apply to those with lower GPA, where the completion of additional courses to enhance academic standing may be necessary.

  • Additional Faculty-Specific Criteria

Each Faculty may request additional requirements including, but not limited to, passing specific entrance exams or interviews, especially for candidates whose previous degrees were obtained several years prior to admission. Additionally, there may be requirements for students aiming to enter programs outside their primary area of study, contingent upon the completion of certain prerequisite coursework.

Full acceptance into the graduate program is subject to the review and approval of the respective Faculty, ensuring that all candidates meet the necessary academic and institutional standards.

Graduates of Beirut Arab University are exempted from language proficiency examinations.
