This year's Bekaa Graduates Trip organized by the Activities Committee - Faculty of Science at Beirut Arab University, namely Dr. Rami Oweini, will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2015 from 8:30am till 7:00pm.
Graduate students and doctors from all departments will join this event.
The Bekaa Graduates Trip will give the graduates students the chance to visit the Research Center for Environment and Development (RCED) at the BAU Bekaa Campus which operates through a team of scholars and students from the various BAU entities and a network of national and international investigators and research institutions. RCED utilizes interdisciplinary approaches to develop, assess and monitor indicators and recommend management strategies of natural resources and means for sustainable development. RCED has a Managing Board formed from experts and consultants from BAU and responsible community members and presided by Prof. Amr Galal Adawi. The board provides advice, guidance and consultation. It grantees transparency, dissemination of findings and a linkage with different sectors of society and community. RCED is directed by Dr. Safaa Baydoun who is supported by Steering Committees.
The trip will then continue to visit the Anjar Ruins of Umayyad Empire, and then the trip will be concluded by a very tasty lunch at the Al-Shams Restaurant in Anjar area, with a delicious barbecue grill and top of the line Lebanese mezza.
