Online Lectures on Nanotechnology and Nanobiotechnology

03 April 2026

Two online lectures were held at Alamein International University, delivered by Dr. Khulud Habanjar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Beirut Arab University (BAU). The sessions brought together faculty members and students to explore key concepts and recent advances in nanotechnology and nanobiotechnology, with particular emphasis on their impact on medicine, advanced materials, and sustainability.

The first lecture, titled “Small Scale, Big Impact: The World of Nanotechnology” (3/4/2026, 10:00 a.m., 20 participants), introduced the fundamental principles of nanotechnology and its significance at the nanoscale. It highlighted how controlling matter at extremely small dimensions leads to major scientific and engineering advancements, especially in medicine, advanced materials, and sustainable development. The lecture emphasized the transformative potential of nanotechnology and concluded with a discussion on its growing applications in healthcare, particularly in diagnosis and treatment.

The second lecture, titled “Nanobiotechnology: Transforming Medicine, Materials, and Beyond” (10/4/2026, 40 minutes, 30 participants), focused on the principles of nanobiotechnology and how biological systems behave at the nanoscale. It discussed current applications in modern medicine and material science, as well as recent breakthroughs and emerging directions in nanoscale bioengineering. The lecture further highlighted interdisciplinary opportunities and future research prospects in the field.

Both lectures concluded with interactive Q&A sessions, reflecting strong engagement from participants and highlighting the growing importance of nanoscale science in addressing challenges across medicine, technology, and sustainability.
