Biography
I'm an assistant professor in the renewable energy engineering program, department of mechanical engineering at Beirut Arab University. I worked as postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) in the electronic and interface materials group in the department of materials at University of Oxford, UK where I designed a new solar cell called Charged Oxide Inversion Layer (COIL) solar cell. I hold a PhD in electrical and electronics engineering and a MSc in renewable energy (top student award) from the University of Manchester, UK. I established several international collaborations and worked with top industry partners (like Trina Solar and Longi Solar). I have published papers in top journals.
Research Interests
Defects in semiconductors materials, silicon solar cells, interface engineering and hydrogen dynamics in different layers of solar cells, efficiency degradation mechanisms of solar cell efficiency, silicon-perovskite tandem solar cells, electrical and optical semiconductor characterization methods like deep-level transient spectroscopy (DLTS) and photoluminescence (PL), wind energy, biomass and biofuel properties.
