DPT Ceremony
14 December 2013| Under the patronage of the president of BAU Prof. Amr Galal
El Adawi, the Department of Physical Therapy – Faculty of Health Sciences held
a Gala dinner at Babel Restaurant- Dbayeh on Saturday December 14, 2013 to
celebrate obtaining the approval from the Ministry of Education and Higher
Education for BSc. in physical therapy holders to start the " Doctor of
Physical Therapy " (DPT) program. The Ceremony was attended by Lebanese
Ambassador Mr. Hisham Demachkieh, Secretary General of the Arab Union for
Physical Therapists Mr. George Boueiri, President of order of physiotherapists
in Lebanon Mr. Khalifa Khalifa, Ex- president of order of physiotherapists in
Lebanon Mrs. Claude Maroun, Mr. Tawfiq Houry, President of “Wakf El Ber wal
Ehsan” , BAU Vice presidents Prof. Khalid Baghdadi and Prof. Issam Othman ,
Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Moustafa Mourad , Deans of medical
faculties, Head of the Public Relations Department at the University Mrs. Zeina
Houry, , Head of the Department of Physical Therapy at the University Dr.
Ibtissam Saab, and Professors of BAUs’ Faculties in addition to students
enrolled in the "DPT" and the BSc. program in physical therapy. Noor Mazyan presented the word of BAU Bsc. Students and Mary Louise Ayoub the word of the "DPT" students; Both speeches expressed the importance of the event for the students . Followed a speech by Dr. Ibtissam Saab the head of the Department of Physical Therapy in which she congratulated the University for this achievement as the 1st university to start such a program in the Middle East. She also thanked everyone who contributed in such a success and emphasized its importance for the future of the profession. |

Mr. Khalifa Khalifa, during his speech talked about the importance of the event for the profession at various levels, congratulating the University for this achievement, considering it as a gift from the University to the profession. Prof. Moustafa Mourad, the Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences wished the department further progress and talked about the new programs that the faculty is working on, and that will add up to this success . Prof. Amr Galal El Adawi, who expressed pride in this achievement, addressed the students and wished them success and progress. He also thanked Dr. Ibtissam Saab and the department staff for their efforts, explaining that the University always strives to develop and deliver the best in terms of academic education in Lebanon.
