As part of the cooperation between Beirut Arab University and the Université Aix-Marseille, and with the sponsorship of the Institut Français in Beirut, the French Department, Faculty of Arts, BAU held a five-day seminar entitled “The Novel in the 21st Century and Postmodernism”. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Michel Bertrand, professor at the Université Aix-Marseille, and aimed at introducing contemporary trends in the modern novel, as well as opening new horizons in the field. The seminar was attended by the staff-members and students of the French Department at BAU, as well as staff-members at the Lebanese University.
