}

As part of the ongoing discussions and collaboration on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) between UNESCO and universities in Lebanon, a meeting was held on Monday, March 10, at the organization's headquarters in Beirut with university representatives to discuss progress made and upcoming initiatives.

At the forefront of this meeting was the initiative of Beirut Arab University, which was the first to introduce the Media and Information Literacy course as a University Elective in its program. Dr. Iman Alaywan presented the progress of this experience so far, expressing hope that the course would transition from an elective to a mandatory requirement in the near future, similar to the Human Rights course.

Professor Dawood Ibrahim, who teaches the course, discussed the positive engagement of students and potential modifications to make the course more suitable for students from all disciplines, not just media students.
