The faculty of Medicine in Beirut Arab University signed an agreement protocol with TEPDAD, the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programs-Turkey, for the accreditation of its undergraduate program.
TEPDAD is recognized by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and the Lebanese Ministry of Higher Education as an accrediting agency for medical education.
An orientation workshop related to the accreditation of medical education and the process of the accreditation and preparation of the Self-Evaluation Report (SER) was given by TEPDAD in BAU in February 8, 2019. The Basic Medical Education World Federation for Medical Education Global Standards for Quality Improvement (2015) will be used for the program accreditation.
The SER has to be prepared according to “Self-evaluation report guide for accreditation of undergraduate medical education programs outside of Turkey”. The SER writing team is currently formed of different faculty members, staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Six years of "Full Accreditation" status have been conferred to the Faculty of Medicine BAU.The Faculty of Medicine BAU has satisfactorily met the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) Standards following the inspection and evaluation by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programmes (TEPDAD).
