Comprehensive pediatric screening at BAU Healthcare Center
15 September 2026In a collaborative effort to support vulnerable children, the Beirut Arab University (BAU) Faculty of Medicine and BAU Healthcare Center (BAUHC) joined forces with Irshad & Islah to complete the Annual Medical Screening for 185 Orphans under the Orphan Support Program (OSP), funded by Irshad & Islah through Helping Hands for Relief and Development (HHRD).
Conducted over 8 days between September 15 and October 1, 2026, at the BAUHC clinics, the initiative provided comprehensive health evaluations led by BAUHC staff, pediatric residents, and medical interns. Under the expert leadership and supervision of Dr. Amal Naous (Program Director of Internship), Dr. Nour Chahine (Pediatric Clinical Instructor at BAUHC), and Mr. Rabih Soubra (Administrative Director of BAUHC), each child received thorough pediatric care.
The comprehensive screenings included full physical examinations—tracking growth metrics (BMI, short stature, poor weight gain), vision, dental health, spine alignment (scoliosis), heart sounds, and organ health—alongside diagnostic lab tests (CBCD, iron, ferritin, urinalysis, and stool analysis) at the BAUHC Diagnostic Medical Laboratory. Together, we remain committed to protecting and enhancing the well-being of young lives in our community!
