Mohammad Itani is a Lecturer in the Department of Nursing at Beirut Arab University, where he has taught since 2017. He is currently a PhD candidate in Nursing Science at the American University of Beirut. His academic work combines undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and contributions to academic quality assurance and accreditation.

His research focuses on developing culturally responsive trauma-informed care in Lebanon, particularly for people with chronic illness and communities exposed to adversity. His interests include intersectional trauma-informed research, cultural safety, and health equity. He explores how care can address social and structural determinants of health while challenging dominant biomedical frameworks by centering lived experience, contextual realities, and culturally grounded knowledge.
