The Faculty of Medicine at Beirut Arab University held a workshop under the title of “Competencies in Health Profession Education”. The Workshop was moderated by Prof. Hossam Hamdy, the Director of Institute of Leadership in Higher Education, Sharjah University, and Prof. Naglaa Mashaal, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Beirut Arab University, in the presence of academic doctors from the medical faculties.
The main objective of the workshop was to introduce the participants to the different learning theories and their implications to teaching and learning. Moreover, Prof. Hamdy highlighted the adult learning principles and the assessment of competencies.

The sessions of the workshop were highly interactive and the participants enjoyed and learned from the valuable discussions during the sessions.

The members of the Faculty of Pharmacy were among the distinguished participants who discussed their experience in applying recent methodologies.

The Faculty members mentioned that the sessions were of great value and helped them to explore the different teaching methodologies used in medical faculties.
