Dr. Mohammed M. Mehanna, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Beirut Arab University, has delivered a scientific speech entitled " Research Ethics Committees in Lebanon: Current Status and Challenges" in International Conference on Research Ethics that was held at Jordan University of Science and Technology on 5th November 2019, Irbid, Hashemite kingdom of Jordan.
The scientific speech was concerned with his current research in the field of research ethics which carried out at Faculty of Pharmacy, Beirut Arab University, and the cooperation with Ministry of Public Health. He highlighted the ministry of health approved research ethics committees in Lebanon with the purpose to identify their current structure, processing and functionality. In addition, to address the limitations and constrains facing the committees. The study was conducted to identify committees’ membership requirements, level of ethics knowledge, workload, and perceived challenges. The study results were of high impact on the audience and appreciation was awarded by the organizing committee.
