Description of Subtheme:

Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety, within this subtheme, the research and monitoring activities focus on studying the medication safety profiles, monitoring adverse effects, and implementing strategies to enhance patient safety. Through systematic identification and assessment of potential risks associated with drugs, pharmacovigilance plays a pivotal role in safeguarding patients' well-being. Furthermore, improper drug disposal can have detrimental effects on the population. Therefore, an assessment of knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding the disposal of expired and unused medications among the population is conducted.

Research Action Plan:

  • Evaluating the efficacy, safety, and quality of patient care services and medications used in treating medical conditions
  • Detecting, monitoring, and reporting adverse drug reaction and drug-therapy related problem(s)
  • Examining medication safety practices and identifying medication errors in clinical settings
