Description of Subtheme:
Through treatments including immunizations, screenings, lifestyle changes, and health education, this subtheme aims to promote health by preventing diseases. Researchers investigate the efficacy of preventative interventions, pinpoint risk factors, and create plans to promote healthy habits and enhance population health. This multidisciplinary field integrates epidemiology, behavioral science, biostatistics, environmental health, and health policy. Overall, the goal is to identify effective methods to prevent disease and promote health at both individual and population levels, thereby improving overall health outcomes and reducing healthcare costs
Research Action Plan:
- Identifying risk factors and developing interventions to prevent diseases especially the most common among the Lebanese population such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer.
- Designing and evaluating programs to promote healthy behaviors such as smoking cessation, physical activity, and healthy eating.
- Researching vaccine efficacy, coverage, and strategies to prevent infectious diseases.
- Implementing and assessing community-based health programs that target diverse populations.
- Researching ways to prevent injuries and violence through community programs, safety regulations, and public awareness campaigns.
