The exploration of various domains such as artificial intelligence, power electronics, communication, health technologies, and biotechnologies contributes to fostering innovation and advancing infrastructure development. These topics align with SDG 9. The research topics related to health technologies, design of medical equipment and devices, and biomedical signal and image processing align with SDG3. By developing innovative technologies and solutions in these areas, contribute to improving healthcare delivery, and ultimately promoting good health and well-being. The research conducted under this subtheme, particularly the areas of artificial intelligence, communication networks, software development, and networking and cybersecurity, contributes to quality education. All these areas of research facilitate educational advancements and developments of curricula.


Science and Technology

Description of Subtheme:

The Faculty of Engineering conducts a variety of research that has relevance to advanced technologies and innovation, regarding the wide range of technologies and applications domains such as, application of artificial intelligence, power electronics, communication, health technologies and biotechnologies with a mission to investigate these domains’ innovation processes within the framework of socio – technical systems. For example, some research is concerned to power electronics, filters, and its applications, advances in machine drives, communication networks, RF systems, artificial intelligence and software development, networking and cybersecurity, design of medical equipment and devices, and biomedical signal and image processing.  Several research topics currently being tackled by researchers in the faculty of engineering fall under this theme.
